How JobCabby verifies companies.

Trust is earned in public. Here's exactly what we check before a company can post listings — and what we don't check, so you know where to look yourself.

What we check

Before a company can post a listing.

  1. 01

    TLC base license lookup

Every company must submit a valid NYC TLC base license number. We look it up against the public NYC Open Data For-Hire Bases registry and confirm the business name, address, and license status match.

  2. 02

    Contact confirmation

We confirm the company contact's email (by sending a verification link) and phone (by direct reach-out for first-time verifications) before any listing goes live.

  3. 03

    Service provider credentials

Rental companies, insurance providers, and TLC schools in our services directory are reviewed against the credentials they submit (DMV dealer plates, state insurance licenses, DMV course approvals, etc.) before appearing publicly.

  4. 04

    Driver TLC license

Drivers must hold a valid NYC TLC driver license to create a profile. We verify the license number format and cross-check status against public TLC records.

What we don't check

Things you should still verify yourself.

  • We don't validate day-to-day pay, tips, or earnings claims in listings. Ask the company and confirm in writing.
  • We don't guarantee vehicle condition, insurance coverage, or rental terms from third-party service providers. Inspect the car, read the contract.
  • We don't monitor ongoing regulatory compliance after initial verification. A license status can change — report anything that looks off.
